The 3-ply surgical masks (14 683 Standard ) and FFP2 ( EN 149 Standard ) are manufactured under the brand "Protek" and are available nationwide. This is to ensure the Algerian market of respiratory protection products with the best quality standards. “Protek" masks are manufactured in a clean room with high-tech equipment, and are produced in accordance with strict European standards (FFP2).
The establishment of these mask production lines (3-ply and FFP2) has created about 60 jobs, in addition to the 1,800 jobs in the company. The production capacity is 600,000 masks per day for surgical masks, and 150,000 masks per day for FFP2. All this is supported by an ISO 13 485:2016 certification as well as a CE certification since 2021.
Production covers 20% of the national market, estimated at around 150-200 million masks per year.
